Snap Fitness - Avoid at all costs.
Snap Fitness billing and charging practices are fraudulent. I read the bad reviews, but decided to join anyway.
Big mistake. I signed a contract for one pay-up-front fee, and they totally ignored it and started charging my credit card monthly. Trying to get a hold of someone to straighten this out is nearly impossible. Very deceptive company.
Stay away from them!!
They advertise different rates and make you think you are getting a discount when you really aren't. They even give you 3 "free" personal trainer visits, but these trainers are NOT educated and don't know how to adjust their workouts for various types of people.

I haven't had any problems at snap fitness. The staff is very friendly and are there mon-fri until 7. sorry about your bad experience but my location rocks!
Peter Taunton, CEO has allowed this to occur in his company for years. Part-time, untrained sales staff do not inform new members of all of the nuances of the agreement, take advantage of them and embellish or make up *** along the way to insure their commissions.
Anytime Fitness and Snap Fitness both use a third party billing company (ABC financial in this case, Checkfree for Snap) to try and insulate them from the negative publicity. They consistently use this to their advantage to extract additional fees, dues and revenue from unsuspecting members. This was obvious while I was involved and one of the reasons why I am no longer. Between employee errors, lack of management oversight, corporate issues and the billing company involvement, it is almost guaranteed you will pay more than what you agreed to.
BE PREPARED FOR THE MASS CLOSINGS OF BOTH FRANCHISES IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
Besides a weak business model and *** customer service most 24/7 clubs throughout the country are performing business contrary to the current state, county and city laws and regulations. BUYER BEWARE!
Mr. Corporate Shill please read posts here only.
Your obvious post of the "positive" is distasteful. Read other posts in regards to Snap Fitness to understand the level of unethical behavior owners are now resorting to with this losing business model.
Read what you sign. I did not have a problem. It is bad managers and owners, yes, but it is also your responsiblity to COMMUNICATE.

UNHAPPY with the no staffing policy of Snap Fitness? Contact your city, county or state health or environmental departments to inquire about the laws for your area.
Most states require a tanning operator at all times tanning is being used, numerous states require AED/CPR certified staff at all times members have access and several states require staffing at all times under any circumstances.
PLEASE BE SURE TO LET THEM KNOW HOW YOUR SNAP FITNESS IS BEING OPERATED.

And just think, the owner of this Snap Fitness franchise below "graduated" from Snap University and may have been trained directly by Peter, Bill and Gary! Oh wait, corporate can't be responsible for each individual franchisee but they have no problem collecting their franchise fees, billing fees, marketing and sales fees, card fees and having Checkfree extract costs from each owner's accounts.
Maybe the "fitness study" will transform the ownership, management and employees of this fine establishment? LOL

We instantly regretted signing up for a Snap year long membership. This was at the Snap Fitness on Ocean Beach Hwy in Longview, Wa.
Completely unprofessional - fat, out of shape staff that were obviously untrained. Our initial assessment was to be with the manager - he stood us up at appt time. The man at the desk who offered to help us reeked of cigarettes.
4 months after our membership expired, we have discovered that they have started charging us again for a membership we did NOT renew. We cannot get a call back from the office here, and staff knows nothing. Manager is never there. Call to Corporate Headquarters simply results in them telling us that they'll have the manager call us.
I am now filing a complaint with the BB Bureau and the State Attorney General's office, and notifying my bank to stop payment on anything to do with Snap Fitness. Everyone here should be doing this!
Snap is a complete RIP OFF.
So, they have this policy that says that you have to give them 30 day notice of quitting their gym. Well, we had been going to the gym for a while and then were unable to and because they aren't STAFFED 24/7, we didn't think to ask them because we went in when there wasn't someone there and so because we didn't let them know and our credit card changed so they weren't taking it out of our credit card every month, we forgot.
3 months later we got a call from them saying we were dilinquent and that we owed for 3 months and if we didn't get in there by the end of the month, they were going to charge again. This is a scam and a rip off. I do NOT recommend them.
They are ripping off their customers. I HATE SNAP FITNESS
CLASSIC AND COMMON EXPERIENCE! Here are the problems: Consistency, training, experience, staffing, cleanliness, policies, resigning, etc.
with these franchised 24 hour clubs. IT'S ALL ABOUT MAKING $$$. The owners of 24 hour club franchises got sucked into it and are learning the hard way about how challenging the fitness industry can be. As soon as they realize they cannot break even and will be subsidizing the business and see no end in sight, the real fun begins for members!
SOMEONE IS GOING TO PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKE! Corporates are making BANK while franchisees are wiping out. Recession proof? RIGHT!
Profitable? RIGHT! Easy? RIGHT!
They may be trying to survive with an impossible business model. Hear that?
It's the circling sound around the drain. Won't be long now for a lot of franchisees!
I charged my membership by credit card. My one time charge became a charge to my credit card for 4 months.
I had a very hard time getting my money back. The manager of the club was never there. I finely contacted the owner and he had it fixed.
I agree the trainers are not very good. No customer service :upset
Go to Bluemaumau and look up "Anytime Fitness or Snap Fitness" and read what is happening to the 24 hour clubs in regards to staffing, tanning and CPR/AED requirements. I guarantee it will put a smile on your face! :grin
